The town below, on the ridge across the valley. An old bazaar with carved wooden shops, ATMs, a pharmacy, a hospital and the taxi stand. Go down to get things done, then come back up to the quiet.

Good to know
- The ATMs are in town, not in Kasar. Take out enough for a few days.
- The government hospital (Base Hospital) is on the Almora–Ranikhet road. In an emergency: 112, ambulance 108.
- The old bazaar is closed on Sundays.
