An easy walk east from the Chabad House, along the Binsar road, to the villages of Matena and Dinapani. From the hill above Matena the snow peaks open up, and it's one of the best viewpoints around.

How to get there

  1. WalkEast from the Chabad House, along the road toward Binsar.
  2. ClimbUp the hill above Matena, for the view of the Himalaya.
  3. Keep goingOn to Dinapani, then back the same way.

Good to know

  • Jeeps use this road, and there are blind bends. Walk on the side.
  • The Panchachuli women weavers had a shop in Matena. Ask if it's open.
  • Good for sunset too, with a flashlight for the way back.
